I’ve had both of these before, but it was cool to do the side by side. Light hearted is very much just a light version of two hearted. Starting with the aroma, you get a little pine wood smell in the light hearted, but the regular two hearted is an intense pine tar (but in a good way?).
The color was similar to what you would expect with the original having a lot more substance in it. What surprised me, though, was the the two hearted wasn’t as clear as I expected. Maybe I just haven’t really looked at the two hearteds I drank before.
Something that didn’t come out in the pictures was the difference in head color. The light hearted looks the same in the photos as in person, but the two hearted was definitely a tan color.
This last picture does a better job of showing the difference in foam, although the color is still not quite right.
As far as taste, I liked the light hearted, even though it still had that weird flavor of light beer that I think is just a lack of flavor (is “meh” a flavor?). I would still be happy to drink a couple of them, though. The two hearted was full bodied and spicy, with that nice balance of sweet and bitter that I’m used to.
